I think CEE TEE stole it from you.

How did cee tee hack ebay so I wouldn't get messages???

Its probably for the best I shouldn't mess with power coders like that I can barely make Karel the robot dance.

You don't want the Yggy. You want to sacrifice sound quality for form factor. That's fine. Get yourself something else. The X-Sabre/Gungnir/Hugo are calling you.

I auditioned the Hugo together with the micro iDSD together before deciding to buy the micro iDSD. Let me just say while I am very impressed at what the Chord people did with FPGAs, I am even more surprised that it has such a big thread on HeadFi, that it is so popular despite the price tag and now Chord is releasing an up-sized version that has similar innards save for a more decent amp section and selling it for a price tag that is similar to a Yggy/Rag combo.

As for the Gungnir, yeah, maybe I will go with that - profile is low enough that I can stack my monitor on top of it and perhaps I can do the same with a Yggy. Cavalli will only be shipping the Liquid-Carbon in August and there's plenty of time to decide what to do.

Sorry, audiofrk! Gotta be decisive or those vintage dacs go quick. My parasound is still up for you to grab, but it is a very big dac. Personally, I prefer the parasound over the transdac.

Or you could have jumped on it. instead CEE TEE got it for $221 shipped. My TransDAC will never sell. I'll replace the Modi 2 uber on one of my background Sonos connect setupst throughout the house.

Edit: there was no stealing. CEE TEE didn't waste time whining about the size of the Yggy and bought the DAC he wanted within a minute of me sending him the link.

or whining about eddie current amps.

not the only tansdac and not the only r2r thats being put up in a fire sale.  Future has yet to take definition will see how things go.

I bet its better but despite trying to convince myself to buy it I just don't have anywhere to put it right now.  Used that last free space in my apartment to set up my vinyl rig wasn't expecting to be tempted by digital anytime soon.  I was going to tuck the transdac under my monitor but oh well as it is I'm still trying to decide between the black widow and carbon so I got time I guess.

On the big Chord thingy. I actually think it's worse than the Hugo from what I heard and I don't even like the Hugo much at all. That thing was a dark/romantic mess. I'm actually confused on what their house sound is or do they not know?

Size / weight is an issue, especially for many vendors who fly to meets and shows.

Can I get a perspective on this, please? Would this box look big on a hifi rack?

I've never heard this thing and I already wouldn't buy it just based on its design and price. Seriously, wtf are some people thinking?

It's an acquired taste. You have to really like holiday fruitcakes or have a nostalgic attachment to Fischer Price toys. I'm not sure if I should eat it or look for a pull string.

Its hard to describe the Hugo sound its mostly flat (not dynamic) midcentric  all detail it has is centered here (mids).  Bass light tremble light (but tinny?).  Most  people that like it use bass heavy phones and hate tremble.so they end up with a sound that is bass right and detail mids and rolled of highs exactly what some people want. And they only over spent like $1000 for  a portable DAC/amp. First time I listen to it was at my first meet with a stock hd800, it was so boring I was about to leave the hobby.

It's being heavily promoted by the royal court at HF. Chord has a good marketing budget. A good one to chase after.
