So you people complaining about the Yggy's size. It's a little smaller than typical desktop components. It's smaller than my Denon CDT and the PWD. WTF is wrong with you people? :-Z

I guess it is really a matter of perspective. To the people like me who started out on the audio journey via computer audio, a DAC and Amp the size of a mid-sized PC tower is really not something we are used to and looking at the various less-costly Schiit offerings, they are all pretty transportable. Of course, we are all aware that things like integrated amplifiers and receivers are all pretty big but at this stage, for me personally those are outside-context items that no longer register on our radar.

To be honest, if Schiit is able to trickle down their new multi-bit reference sound into smaller form factors, that will be very cool and let's admit it, it will be a massive triumph on their part.

You don't want the Yggy. You want to sacrifice sound quality for form factor. That's fine. Get yourself something else. The X-Sabre/Gungnir/Hugo are calling you.

@pyu

:)p7 here here.  I don't think it would be easy to squeeze the Yggdrasil guts into a smaller chassis.  As it is the boards are starting to looked cramped not to mention that the thermals would sky rocket.

A lot of things are wrong with me ask my ex.  but the gungnir/mjlonir are already starting to feel like small rack components not desktop rigs.  Yggy takes that and increases the high .

I think CEE TEE stole it from you.

Or you could have jumped on it. instead CEE TEE got it for $221 shipped. My TransDAC will never sell. I'll replace the Modi 2 uber on one of my background Sonos connect setupst throughout the house.

Edit: there was no stealing. CEE TEE didn't waste time whining about the size of the Yggy and bought the DAC he wanted within a minute of me sending him the link.
