Probably will not sound very good because... (this is from Jude's video) it's single-sided magnet, but the magnets are... on the ear side. There are fazors, too, and I'm just guessing, but the fazors used in LCD headphones are just too rigid... so instead of acting as absorbers, they act like reflectors, and that may account for the weird treble response, since high frequency waves are the most likely to bounce off of a rigid surface. Last but not least, there's that weird open grill design. It looks to me like it's... arched inside, and that's another reflecting surface, so... hmm...

I may sneak a listen when I get the chance to, just to see if I'm not just talking out of my arse.

Beyond that, the design is ugly IMO, or at least not as pretty as Audeze's LCD line. I'm hoping Audeze won't abandon their older designs to pursue the EL-8 at any point in the future.

What a success  :)p3
I wonder if the insane pace of the HF thread has something to do with Audeze being a proud american company ?
Anyway, the single side magnet technology is something interesting, since it's not so common (Abyss and HE-560 I guess).

The light veneer looks bad, especially coupled with the water drainage audeze grill.  The closed-back version however looks pretty good.  I don't like how the earpads aren't flush with the cups-- they're smaller in circumference.  Making the earpads bigger is always a good thing.

I like the headband.  Hopefully it alleviates the hot spot the LCD line gives.  It's all the benefits of a suspension strap, but without most of the bad aesthetics of a suspension strap.

The screw and pad placement on the headband reminds me of the FSP - but without all the faux-water droplet finish. That headband looks pretty comfy. Hope it doesn't get cracks at the screw points.
