Probably will not sound very good because... (this is from Jude's video) it's single-sided magnet, but the magnets are... on the ear side. There are fazors, too, and I'm just guessing, but the fazors used in LCD headphones are just too rigid... so instead of acting as absorbers, they act like reflectors, and that may account for the weird treble response, since high frequency waves are the most likely to bounce off of a rigid surface. Last but not least, there's that weird open grill design. It looks to me like it's... arched inside, and that's another reflecting surface, so... hmm...
I may sneak a listen when I get the chance to, just to see if I'm not just talking out of my arse.
Beyond that, the design is ugly IMO, or at least not as pretty as Audeze's LCD line. I'm hoping Audeze won't abandon their older designs to pursue the EL-8 at any point in the future.
