Like a few of you guys have mentioned, these aren't anything amazing, but IMO they sound better when worn on the head angled away from the cheeks, rather than having the pads flush against the skull. Worn flush, they sound like ass, low-fi vocals, a good chunk of the treble drops off & has claustrophobic staging.

Edit: referring to the Open EL-8s.

Heard these today and thought they were okay. Pretty linear and smooth through the bass and midrange but gets a little shouty in the upper mids and treble.

Build quality seems good in spite of the questionable wood laminate, with the exception of the new connectors.  On the demo unit I tested the left side kept cutting out whenever I turned my head and needed wiggling to reseat the connection. Could be just an anomaly but did not make the best first impression.
