I see nothing wrong with that. Some headphones function decently enough as mini speakers for the casual listener.

Also some people don't like getting their hair messed up or the way headphones feel while worn.  :-\

I mostly talk about music there. Weird.

I had to make space in my man purse this morning so I needed to ditch the brick and go low budget.

I reached into the long lost IEM box and pulled out the Monster turbines! Fed direct from the iPhone, not a bad rig for the noisy commute.  It took a little while to "get OK" with the big bass tilt, but by he time I reached work I was secretly enjoying the BOOM!

Does that count?

Yes, I still have my Monster Turbines but gave away the Coppers.  I like the easy sound and tonal balance of these plus the price.  The thing I don't like is that they have a lot of driver flex.  To get it into the ear and try to feel a good seal, I regularly lock the driver and have to use vacuum to pull it out again.  I wonder how many of these are thrown away because people think a cable or driver died?  I had to explain that to my cousin as I gave him a pair.  Explain that to anyone you give them to or share them with.  Also- they have a nice metal housing but they are heavier than other IEMs.  Hmmm, time for me to pull mine out and use them again...

Low budget?  How low?  USD 100, give or take?  Try beating a Fulla and a pair of Apple EarPods for USD 109.

Yeah that is low. That is "I am not too picky about how I listen to music" low.

True but a $30 blue tooth speaker could work just as well and have better portability.

Bought a Sennheiser PX200II. My plan for a SennGrado mod has begun.

Considering that the 100 is usually used with open back wood cups, why not try the 200 in custom  closed back cups. I found someone who said they make them for me and his initial quoted price is reasonable.

Grado 125i,Vibro cups, flat pad and my cheap mosfet headphone amp that will forever be under the radar. That combo is my perfect way to listen to jazz.
