Of my three portable amps, the Audinst AMP-HP is my favorite. I will be trying opamp rolling for the first time with it.

Making playlists on Fiio X1 is a very tedious task :(

Rolling opamps are not as rewarding as rolling tubes.

I can't even fathom rolling power cords.

Finding an on-ear headphone for portable use is a challenge. They tend to be out of the price range that I would be willing to pay,too bulky, don't fold,a seemingly lack of durability or desirable sound quality. Right now a Beyerdynamic T50p that is heavily EQ'ed is winning only because it meets most of my criteria but it is not that satisfying.

I can only see doing a power cord upgrade (is that even worthwhile?) with my custom desktop computer but I am long way from actually doing it.

After noticing no difference with the "upgraded" opamp in my portable amp and along  with my DAP ,I tried listening with my laptop setup. I did "notice" that the Audinst sounded more agreeable with "upgraded" opamp than the stock opamp.

Unless you're looking for throw-in-backpack-and-not-worry build quality (V-Moda), I've found the Thinksound on1 strike a very good balance in portability, efficiency, and sound, especially after some simple mods. They're discounted right now on Amazon ($214) and may even go lower during black friday.
