I see nothing wrong with "Geek". Chicks (at least the ones who are level headed) dig geeks. But not nerds or dorks. Yes, there is a difference between geeks, nerds, and dorks. And then there are losers.

At least it's not "Jock", i.e. "Jock Out". Or maybe "Air" or "Air Head"

Has anyone here heard a Geek Wave?
(Currently tempted by the 32 GB model. My iPod Classic is trusty...but it's also just an iPod Classic. A 5 year-old Classic.)

Only the prototype from the Show thread.

So tempting, I think I will back the Wave also thanks to you guys. I look forward to testing it, especially since you guys say its not sh1t. Also I think the market lacks a truly good sounding DAP that is easy to use as well. Ibasso at least could not pull it off as well as I hope for and though I have not tried, not much expectations from Fiio.

The Sony DAPs (PHA-1 and 2 excepted) have great interfaces and good sound - at least a certain kind of sound which is at least "not shit". The AK120 is pretty darn nice too - good interface and good sound.

Yeah, but they cost considerably more than a good discrete setup that potentially sounds better for much less $$.  The cost performance ratio is just ridiculous right now.  $150 for Wave is beyond reasonable.

$150? Really? I thought it was more like $400.

Oh, wait. Darn, the HF hype mindset is evil.

There's a special 32GB version for Indiegogo supporters that is only $158 currently. Since you can add an SD card it seems like the best bet. I think the normal base is a 64gb model that will be $300.

So these DACs (Geek Out, Wave) are the best sounding ones for the money?
