Electra Production Chassis Photos.

Updated pic 4/5/2013

There is going to be a rounded 1/4" front plate which is not pictures. The meter is for adjusting bias. There will be a knob with a four position selector for each of the output tubes. Two sets of smaller knobs for coarse and fine bias adjustment.

Nice, looks like things are finally shaping up.

Has Craig mentioned if he can do anything like a polished top plate (like on the BA?)  I've asked him but he hasn't responded at all.

Also, do you happen to have any pictures of the external PS?

Edit - I see he also changed the tube layout and removed the transformer that was in the back.  Did he fit that inside the chassis?

Desperately waiting for impressions, the H3 report is rather dry in that regard. It is diseappointing as you guys had put all the stats in the same room which should have favored comparative impressions (different sources not withstanding).

I figure either:

1) Purrin (and many of the other regulars here for that matter) was running around taking care of meet issues and didn't get much chance to listen to all the stat setups properly.  Either that or:

2) He felt it would undermine his being "meet organizer" by appearing to favor one vendor over another in public impressions.

The only comparisons I've seen were from Milos but they were light on the Electra as he didn't hear it for long.

Send a pm to CEETEE. He heard them all.

Some hints:
  • BHSE/T2DIY were the cleanest sounding
  • BHSE tonal balance was brighter or less bassy in a relative sense compared to all others with T2DIY just behind.
  • T2DIY has more bass than BHSE
  • Electra was the more "musical" but not as clean
  • LL and Electra were warmer or more bassy sounding than BHSE/T2DIY
  • LL was somewhere in between
  • LL did not seem to extract detail as well as the others
FYI, the Electra top plate is polished like the BA.

There are surprisingly few impressions in general in that thread  :-00

Let's hit it then. I actually agree with Andy.

Thanks for the bullet points.  My wallet (and my fondness for Craig) wants an Electra, but my brain (and love of clean-sounding classical music) keeps telling me to go for the T2.  I hate sounding like one of those incessantly indecisive "make my decision for me" guys but I'm not just at an "M-50 or K550" point expenditure-wise.

I'm probably not selling the T2DIY. So it's either BHSE, LL, or Electra for you then.

I figured that at this point.  I may have another builder I trust interested though, I just have to make it worth his while.  Or, you know, save a few thousand and buy from a designer I actually like.
