Send a pm to CEETEE. He heard them all.

Some hints:
  • BHSE/T2DIY were the cleanest sounding
  • BHSE tonal balance was brighter or less bassy in a relative sense compared to all others with T2DIY just behind.
  • T2DIY has more bass than BHSE
  • Electra was the more "musical" but not as clean
  • LL and Electra were warmer or more bassy sounding than BHSE/T2DIY
  • LL was somewhere in between
  • LL did not seem to extract detail as well as the others
FYI, the Electra top plate is polished like the BA.

The only thing that I cannot confirm is the BHSE in comparison...and I would say that the LL sounded very "flat" to me compared to the DIY T2 and the HEV90.

Friday night I mentioned that it would be nice to me if the Electra sounded a bit more like the Orpheus than the DIY T2.  It did...purrin's modded headphones on the Electra sounded like it would be my endgame.  I didn't get to sit and spend time running different tracks through it over time though.

Was wonderful to be able to spend a couple of hours with the DIY T2 and Orpheus set-ups to pay a lot of attention to the presentation.  Kept rewinding certain tracks and comparing back and forth to soak up the way they blended, resolved, and felt.  I appreciate when the system blends the best aspects of what we generally consider "dynamic" with the speed/control/ability of the other types of phones...and don't "hurt" anywhere.

LOL. I love the end when CEE TEE says "....nice" then puts on the headphones and his don't-talk-to-me-because-I'm-Orpheusing-right-now face on.

After blowing up my car on the 12-hour trip down, I couldn't pass up a chance to hear The STUFF.

Man I was tired at that point.  But didn't want to leave...

Thanks for the inputs marv and cee tee! Cee tee, the majority of the stat comparisons were made with the omega 2 it seems? You did not get a chance (or care) to sample the 009?

Marv, do you have any pictures of the PS?

Also, I know you like to open things up (but perhaps not on public forums)...

Here is the PS the last time I saw it. For production, the PS will be housed in a separate box with the rectifiers.

Wow, I knew Craig liked the "industrial" look but that's taking it a bit far...

Just standard 6X4's?

really don't care for the two box solutions.. why not just put it in a bigger box as a single solution. Especially for a headphone amp this makes little to no sense. Unless you are building something as enormous as the T2, but even taht i would have liked to see in a single box.

The guys who started building B22s in two boxes began this madness.
