Ha-ha, I tell LH they are confusing all the time. I'd actually encourage people to give honest feedback here. I'm glad this thread exists. I know the LH guys like getting real world inputs.

I am totally confused at the Geek Out product line as described on http://marketplace.lhlabs.com/products/geek-out-v2-usb-dac-headphone-amplifier:

Geek Out V2
Geek Out V2+
Geek Out V2 INFINITY
Geek Out V2+INFINITY

  • Does the "+" mean it's better version? Like Apple II+ was better than Apple II?
  • Does the "INFINITY" (in super small size font) mean it's the portable battery powered version? Like "INFINITE" (or long lasting) battery power.
  • What version is which?
  • What the fuck is Time Coherence Mode or Frequency Response Mode? What does this mean? Why should I care? I want the best sound. Which one is it? I am a consumer.
  • Why do I have to scroll several pages to figure out what version of the product I need?
  • Why can't you lay out all four versions out on the webpage and describe in simple terms what the differences are and what I am getting for my money?
  • What does "-3db THD+N Performance Boost" mean?
  • What are the "THREE Digital Modes!" I thought there were two.

Last I heard + means battery power. Infinity is femto clocks. Modes are FRM/TCM/FTM (femto).

Marv,

you have + and Infinity backwards.

+ means has a battery.
Infinity means:  3 gains (instead of 2) and 3 Digital modes (instead of 2)

3 digital modes =
TCM, FRM, SSM. SSM streaming for spotify, etc.

There is no manual for the V2+Infinity (yet) to spell out these differences that I could find.

TCM. Is that Traditional Chinese Medicine? I prefer CCM or Classical Chinese Medicine as it is without the Commie tint. I am Joe Consumer.

Why do I need you guys to explain all this? Why does the website not clearly explain this?

Why are you guys' Three Modes different from each other. Do the three modes have something to do with George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg, and Ice Cube?

the above about Infinity is true for the Pulse line, but not for GOV2 line.

no femtos or FTM in GOV2 or GOV2+ Infinity models, EXCEPT for the uber rare "Special Edition" models IIRC.
of which there may only be a handful?

Dammit. Joe Consumer is frustrated and buying AudioQuest Dragonfly from Amazon instead.

AudioQuest Dragonfly not expensive enough. Get the Popo HA-2 which has DXXXD goodness + Sexy black thong + No-Apple-Adoptive-Kid. Who cares about Class A and balanced out. It just gets so hot it's pants fall off.

Oh right, signature edition. Fix your model lineup LH!! Then that's 4 modes w/ femto...

U mean the no-pants GO V2 sounds better than the Popo HA-2 cigar lighter?
