I hate to break it to you, but most of these companies are run by regular folks who are generally pretty nice.

"pretty nice" is an understatement IMO.

in my interactions (personal and electronic)
all 3 guys are beyond friendly, funny, open and accommodating with information and desire to further the audio experience.

if folks don't like delays, crowdfunding decisions, prices, product ideas, etc-  well, that's another topic all together which only you + LH Labs folks can reconcile or discuss.

Sure they may be nice guys in person, but as for-profit company, they're dropping the ball in a few very important areas. As a customer/backer only thing I have to go off of are their products, their campaign promises, forum posts, and customer service via tickets. In my opinion, they're batting 1/4. They produce good products 90% of the time. The verb being the one major let down in their product line.

Reading this thread here doesn't really change my opinion about them either. If the OEM really did do a switcheroo on them, they should have been upfront about that fact on the thread over at HF. Instead, they posted up some bullshit review from a guy who's never reviewed a high end product in his life, and tried to pass it off as positive feedback to counter the overwhelming flood of negative feedback from actual paying backers/customers.

You guys here on changstar are supposed to pride yourselves on being 100% unbiased when it comes to audio PRODUCTS, but I feel that LH just got a "get out of jail free" card right here considering the Verb. I've seen other headphones and/or companies be eviscerated for much less on this site. I understand that the people who run the company are nice, honest people. I can accept that. The Verb as a PRODUCT, however, is garbage, and how they handled the fall out as a company wasn't the best.

Well. I like the LH guys, but I haven't or heard the Verb. Otherwise I would have reviewed it.

I actually won a GO V2 on a raffle, and I think it sounds great and supports a lot of formats. It was a product I was looking forward to. But the casing was crap. I also sort of said the 1000 mW deal is hindered by the fact that this is a USB product that can't go above what the USB supply can give it. I also don't like the price, which is a thing I say about almost every product, because I don't.

No free passes on the things I have actually checked out. I also try not to be a dick as much as I can.

When my experience with LH Labs was buying a GO450 from Amazon, I liked them because I bought a good product. Now that I've dealt directly with them via this GOV2 thing, I realize that the best way to purchase an LH Labs product is once it's mature and via a reseller. They shipped a hilariously bad chassis design and I've been told twice now, in two consecutive weeks, that they'd have my GOV2 back within the next week. The last update from their RMA team, after two days, is that they still won't ship for a least another couple business days. Casey never responded to the one PM I sent, despite his request here that we PM him if there's a problem. Meanwhile, I've been without a DAC for two weeks now. I should have known better than to sell my GO450.

I joined their original Geek Pulse campaign in Dec 2013.  Thus far I still have not received mine.  When I asked them in Feb when I'll get it, they said June at the latest.  Not surprisingly on their Production Update the Pulse is to pushed back to the end of August.  I would be absolutely shocked if I did get mine by then.

After hearing about the casing problems, I'm glad I backed out of the Geek V2+ when they changed their "pre-order" into a crowd-funding campaign.

Pm/email me your address, and I'll send you mine for free. No joke. Just post up an honest opinion about them.
You can keep them, send them on tour, toss them, or whatever after you're done. No harm, no foul.
Also, apologies for the tone of my first post. Like I said, they make good products, but obviously have not won me over as a supporter.
I will leave it at that.

Right. Must be why we censor any criticism and personal attacks against LH and put the Verb on our leaderboard. Oh wait, both of those statements are false. Just like yours.

Many of us haven't heard or bought a Verb. According to you, we shouldn't. So wtf is the problem? You need us to affirm your biases for you? If it makes you feel any better I'll just come out and confirm that Gavin bought me a new Aventador as long as I didn't say anything bad about the Verb. I promptly traded it in for two Astell & Kern DAPs straight up.

Well that was a "mild" overreaction.  :spank:

My offer now stands to send them you then. Obviously I've offended your delicate sensibilities. So you can have them to listen to for yourself. Free of charge to put next to your aventador.

Send them to ultrabike, he close enough for me to hear them. Not sure what the point is exactly. LH has already postponed the balanced version as a result to get them sorted first.

Not sure what the point is exactly.

The point was to give an honest account of their product is it not? Someone asked why no one talked about it, and I shared my honest observation (admittedly less than cordially at the time.... but I thought that was the benefit of here vs HF). I criticized their official response as a company to the unfolding debacle. Never an individual. Never personal. I also openly apologized for my lack of tact in how I conveyed my displeasure. I now understand that they are your friends, and that you take it VERY personally. So sorry to you too. It's your forum... I just play here.

* Correction, not "why nobody talked about them", but "wtf is up with them", my mistake before you go claim I made a false statement.
