I now understand that they are your friends, and that you take it VERY personally.

I don't think you do understand at all. I'm friends with lots of people in the industry and still call them on stuff openly. I told Craig from Eddie Current when I thought his Zana Deux and early BW were shit. I told Jason his Lyr (Gen1) sounded garbage. I've mentioned openly to LH when I've heard certain issues and problems with the Geek Out and Pulse.

There's some stuff that sounds good that we haven't heard or reported on. There's tons and tons of stuff that sounds terrible that we haven't heard or heard and don't think is worth our time or effort. Personally I tend to only review ToTL (or claimed ToTL) stuff these days. The fact that some of my reference gear is cheap is purely coincidental. FYI, a lot of people know my preferences and reference level, and are not going to send me anything that doesn't fit or compete in that envelope. I'm the wrong guy to write that some ding dong trinket may be good for someone else under such and such hypothetical circumstance.

What I take personally is if you question the integrity of this site and the people who built it when you have no clue wtf you are talking about. Some of you might see a LH banner and start inventing all sorts of conspiracies in your head. They are not a paid sponsor and we've gotten no money from them to my knowledge. They helped organize one of our meets that was sponsored by Brooks Berdan for free. So nobody exchanged any money at any time. We should probably change the banner to Brooks Berdan to be more accurate if that would make you happier.

Point is, if anyone wants to turn circumstance or coincidence into conspiracy and make charges against our integrity, I'm not going to remain silent and let anyone get away with it uncontested.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have some actual music to listen to and gear to get ready for a micro-meet tomorrow. Or should I say today now...

I now understand that they are your friends, and that you take it VERY personally. So sorry to you too. It's your forum... I just play here.

I like Gavin and Casey. But we are not like butt buddies or something. They do their LH thing, and sometimes it works, sometimes I guess it doesn't.

I'll PM you my address and will give the Verb a shot.

EDIT: PM Sent...

You guys here on changstar are supposed to pride yourselves on being 100% unbiased when it comes to audio PRODUCTS, but I feel that LH just got a "get out of jail free" card right here considering the Verb. I understand that the people who run the company are nice, honest people. I can accept that. The Verb as a PRODUCT, however, is garbage, and how they handled the fall out as a company wasn't the best.

If the majority of us have NEVER heard the Verb, nor reviewed it, how are we giving LH a free pass?
Lame ass straw man argument.

The LH products I have heard GO450, GO100, GOV2+Infinity and Pulse Infinity were all very good.

Because of exactly that. You haven't heard the Verb, yet you're here defending LH while criticizing the only ones who actually have heard it. Also, I said the same thing about their product line as a whole. Re-read my first post. I own a GO450, GO100, and backed the Geek Pulse Xfi + LPS4 (still waiting), and the Verb.

If Ultrabike is willing to send these on tour, then you can have your chance too. That's all I can offer you pyrates on this matter. Fair enough?

I believe the official Changstar position from those who have heard them is that the Verb sounds like shit.

Looking forward to Ultrabike's measurement and subjective impressions.

stupid phone, having a hard time posting.

The Verb sounds like shit. I don't like them, and I've told LH Labs as much. They let all the backers know from the campaign that the Verb was NOT what they expected after I let them know.

+1 on "The Verb sounds like shit."

I've given LH quite a bit of crap in the past myself over delivery times and playing calvinball with purchase terms. But, in this case, I feel like the amount of outrage needs to be proportionate to the offense. At $39 if a product sucks then a person is out the (retail) price of a Portapro. That's not optimal, sure, but there are far far far larger screwjobs in this hobby.

Good to know.  I haven't heard the verb or any other LH gear for that matter, and have no stake in this debate, but I will note that the words "changstar premium sponsor" at the top of the page do communicate to me, and I suspect to many others, that LH is paying to advertise here.  That is, after all, what "sponsor" means.  Put "premium" in front, and my construction is that they are paying more than the other vendors for added exposure.  Just sayin'

I'm actually happy to see LH reviving its reputation and the positive comments from trusted voices around here about their experiences with the people behind LH.  I just hope, going forward, LH will be a little bit more careful about what they publish online in connection with the sale of their gear.  E.g. there was a comparison chart up on the pulse crowd funding page for quite a while that included the pulse and other well known dacs from ayre and arc.  Pulse was advertised as having a highly regulated (optional) LPS, while those fields were left unchecked for the other competing products.  This struck me as a little suspect.  A one minute google search turned up, for example, that the referenced arc dac8 has seven stages of regulation in its psu.  This kind of stuff destroys credibility and put me off of LH for a long time.  Following with interest again now, but I hope fact checking has become more of a priority.

Agree. I'm a total knob at this but would venture they sound better than iPhone earbuds that sell separately in the same ballpark. For me they have a better fit and noise isolation. They work  for listening on the go in the subway or library where they double for passive earplugs;  as a bonus they took some silly beating without falling apart, so no harm done. Given the indigogo campaign price I don't feel robbed in any way but would not have bought them at MRSP (similar to IE60'!)
