There's also the little Gallo speakers, which I think are $240 or $320 each. You're probably going to need a sub with these, though.

I think those coaxial KEFs are pretty killer. Probably more coherent than most 2-ways you'll find, including the OSMT (I imagine). Vanatoos are excellent too, but I wouldn't recommend them for your application because of the rear mounted passive radiator.

I've been looking more at the KEF Q300/100, and it seems like they'd really fit my room as long as I get a good amp. I might need to re-arrange my room though... here's what it currently looks like:

I could swap the two desks, or just put the speakers onto the middle desk, which has a lot more space to work with. I could probably squeeze stands onto the sides of the middle desk too.

Has the Wharfedale 10.2 been mentioned? They punch above their weight, so the leftover $ can be put into the amp or other accessories.

Not quite... Just looked them up and Music Direct has a demo pair for $280

Damn... been doing some more reading about the Q Acoustics Concept 20, QA2020i, and QA2010i. The Concept 20 is about $335 more expensive than QA2020i and the cabinet is a bit deeper but from what I'm reading, it's worthwhile purchase. I'm just not sure if it'll fit. As for the QA2020i and QA2010i, they both seem very good budget oriented choices, with the QA2010i being more compact and $90 cheaper.

The QA2010i seems to be the best choice for me right now, out of the three. It gives me left over money for an amp and a stand too. I'll have to measure how much space I have when I get home this weekend.

Seems like this UK based shop, Analog Seduction, ships to the U.S

http://www.analogueseduction.net/category-747/q-acoustics-concept-20-speakers.html
Comes down to $604 shipped to the U.S. Much better price than importing from Canada via ebay. Very tempting...

$295 for the 2010i

Nice find, I've not seen them that low anywhere else.

A friend of mine is using the 2010i's (or was it the 2020ies?) and he is very content with them!

Im gonna go to a store to audition the sc204s and some other speakers this weekend. Then I'll see how much space I have in my room to fit stuff.

I think a concept 20 + emotiva mini-x + speaker stand setup would be pretty sweet.

$600 + $210 + ~$100 for a stand, sub-1k!
