Taylor Swift's 1989. Her ode the '80s, the sounds of synth, and acid choruses that take the form of structured verse. Or something. It's not terrible, with more than a few catchy tracks. Just don't expect Speak Now or Fearless quality, no siree blonde.

Notable tracks- Blank Space, Style, Shake it Off, Clean. To a lesser extent- How You Get the Girl, Wonderland, New Romantics. (Wonderland and New Romantics are Deluxe edition only, I think)

Shake it Off and Style being the major standouts. The former for being seemingly out of place considering the tone of the rest of the album, with it's modern bubble gum pop er.. style. The latter is probably the sole track that actually sounds as if it could've been a forgotten '80s one hit wonder.

In the mean time I'm listening to KIASMOS by Kiasmos

I'm really enjoying this as well. Though I tend to be a sucker for moody electronica. Solid release.

I received my LP (plus free downloads) and will sit down and enjoy when the mood is right. I've been a long time Sunn O))) fan and seen them live twice so "dark and spooky" are right up my street.

I got the LP and the CD.  The CD because I want a lossless digital version.  I like the album.

The LP comes in a PVC outer sleeve.  There's concern that PVC sleeves could leach out plasticizer or some other chemical that may damage the vinyl over time.  To be safe I'd take the album out of the PVC sleeve.  If you want to store the album in an outer sleeve get a different sleeve that is not PVC.  There's a thread over on Hoffman Forums about this: http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/warning-to-all-record-collectors-outer-bag-inner-sleeve-concerns.387179/

Flying Lotus - You're Dead!

I really love Flying Lotus Music but I hate the quality of the recording. That's only me or what ?

It seemed pretty uneven to me, with some tracks' production sounding worse than others. I think it has to do, in part, with how busy some of the tracks are. They end up sounding kinda... cluttered? At around 35 minutes, my biggest complaint was that things seemed a bit too crammed together and jumbled up at times.

The vinyl version sounds better to me however.

I'm digging You're Dead as well.  I think they were going for "something" that at times works, but gets lost at other times through too many layers being caked on.

Edit - MF beat me to it!

Highly recommended. This 24/88 has very good placement, good songs and excellent audio quality.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Wasn't Fanfare released in 2013?
