I agree that adele is pretty crappy masteringwise LOL. In that test, all I was doing was checking whether a hot recording overloads the input and in this case it does because switching to low gain or turning foobar's internal volume control down -10db gets rid of the clipping that doesn't already come with the recording to begin with :)

I turned the amp volume up after taking foobar down 10db and the sound is clean even at full volume on the amp

The O2's pot is after the gain stage for lower noise so if your source is too hot it will clip no matter where the volume is.

The max input is 7/(voltage gain) on AC and 4.5/(voltage gain) on batteries.

It's been a known issue for some time which was discussed during the design phase.  Oddly it's a non issue for some when it would have been if others had designed an amp with the same thing.  There's been a few similar experiences on other threads on H-fi but its supporters can't help getting their threads shut down.  Mav has been good about it though, he doesn't have anything to prove.

Thats why if a song is really hot, the foobar volume control can fix it is what I was saying. I wish the odac/o2 combo fixes this because I might want to get one of these amps myself. And so far as the highs are concerned now, I got used to it pretty fast making me think that it was my CMOY that was too dark and muddy all along.

As for now using the dt250-250, the o2 is awesome at low gain on everything until the time when the album even at full volume is not loud enough. I only turn the gain to high when that happens in which case it doesn't clip since the recording is really quiet.

I was just giving you the numbers so that you could look for a way to fix it without having to use the digital volume control and/or avoid it in the future.  You can set the gain to 1x or something and make it work with really hot sources if you need to.

NwAvGuy said he was going to be able to fix it on the desktop version but that won't be out for a while.

That desktop version is something I look forward to since I don't use my cans out of the house anyways.

What wrong with using digital volume control, esp. to you objectivists?

A lot of the sound of the O2 (are CMOY) is predicated on the op-amp(s). Swap the O2 input opamp with an LM4562 to get rid of the stridency / brightness.

Putting the pot after the voltage gain stage was probably not a good idea to being with given that the complications from it (what you are experiencing with a hot source) aren't worth the extra few db less noise which was inaudible in the first place. It's kind of like those guys who spend tons of gold pieces and hours or playing in WoW to get 27 more HP.
