Maybe your phone has dual band.  If you wanted to, you could try settings and disable or select CDMA only perhaps.  See if that affects your data and/or interference.

Dunno. I actually have almost no signal here so there's no telling what my phone's even doing. Fortunately I only turn on data rarely (if I need to look something up and am away from wifi) so it doesn't really affect me.

My limited experience, and knowing jack shit except how to play Angry Birds on a mobile phone considered... It always seems to me like the worst data transmissions are when the signal is very low.  It seems like the phone is trying hard to find a good signal by pinging away or something...

I'm sure one of our geeks will set us straight that I'm full of sh_t... but it seems that way to me.

This!
When I'm at work, the spot I am on is the one with LESS signal and I always get interference, heck, I get interference with the Magni, with my Leckerton it was super annoying. Anyway, definitely agree with this assessment.

I just popped in the 5532(bought it today) and threw away the 2068 into the bin by accident. Preliminary impressions say that the 2068 is staying in the bin.

In my experience, NJM2068s have to be stacked to sound good. You know, it's a low voltage low current portable opamp, it's not meant to drive hardcore loads.
I do share all the sound signature observations.
NE5532 is the grandpa of all the audio opamps and should be the reference one. The only problem it has is relatively low PSRR, specifically for ground fluctuations.

I'd recommend trying an expensive but stable opamp too, e.g. AD797. (the stability requirement excludes OPA627) Also try AD8610.

None of these amps were capable enough to reproduce the PWD's resolution. Out of the three as configured, the Leckerton was the most resolving and gave a hint of what the PWD could do. It also had the best ability to "dig" into the music and reproduce the subtle instantaneous micro-dynamic shifts which give life to music. The CHA47 was next. And the O2 the least resolving and also the most flat. The O2's greatest asset was clarity though.

Hey guys! Long time reader, finally joined! I read through the thread expecting somebody to maybe touch on what would be capable of reproducing the PWD's resolution, but I never found anything.  Is there a general consensus on which amps might be capable?  Anything near the UHS-6 price?  Thanks for any opinions!

Maybe your phone has dual band.  If you wanted to, you could try settings and disable or select CDMA only perhaps.  See if that affects your data and/or interference.

Generally mobile phones will only attempt to detect a network other than their default (read: selling carrier's) network if:

A). They are set to do so in the settings
B). They are booting up and/or cannot detect the default network

Of course, it's possible that some models of phones operate differently. But it would be counterproductive for them to do so, and carriers would probably require them to prefer their network over any other.

FWIW.
