The other crossfeed is some special Foobar2000 plugin written by a guy who doesn't want to share the algorithm - it contains an allpass to correct remaining phase issues from the IIR filter and doesn't have the problem BS2b has, while still remaining nice an smooth. Also can crossfeed high frequencies too.

Are you talking about the naive software plugin? That one is pretty nice except or the slight thinning and glare added to the sound when enabled.

BS2B doesn't veil the bass or highs. What it does is cutting highs (> corner frequency) some dB.
The bass might get cut if it's inverse phase - it's rare, but can happen.

My personal settings: 1480 Hz, 1,37 dB feed.

Are you using the Linux one? or foobar2k. Thats a weird almost mono setting to me with fb2ks plugin. I did remember the Linux version that I used with deadbeef to sound different with their default settings. Maybe the settings affect the plugin differently on the win vs Linux version.

Every crossfeed I tried just ended up sounding like something was swirling in the air just beyond the headphone cup (further from my ear), or it just bled into a chunky mono signal. I messed with one (don't remember its name) that was horribly complex that was the final blow because it was just weird stuffy or weird mono or some sort of blend of the two.

I'm beyond crossfeed now and don't care for it. I'll just listen to my headphones and deal with the imperfections it presents to me.

I just compared BS2B(using cmoy preset) again with Vnophones(my setting) and i do notice the softening of transients on the VNP plugin vs bs2b. The weird thing is that on a quick switch vs no crossfeed you would think that the bs2b changes the sound much more yet it actually retains more transparency. VNP is definitely going to be good with slightly edgy cans.

There is a factor in the comparison though that is not equal. I am using ulilith with vnp while foobar with bs2b so the player's own sound was not taken into account in this comparison.

Anyway, Astralstorm back to your xfeed plugin let me know if it is okay to just use some of the files because the archive seems to be corrupted everytime I download it and it extracts only some of the files.

The file is fine and the forum too. Blame your ISP.

About that BS2b setting, yes, it sounds monoish, as if you used omnidirectional speakers in a very rich sounding room.
BS2b cannot do anything else, since the time delay is not configurable and is around 30 us.

I have found a setting that I love on bs2b when I messed around with it. It is with both bars to the right.

Subtle yet rich!  :)p3

I downloaded your xfeed and the whole thing finally came through without errors. I love the sound except for the huge level drop.

The level drop is tunable - but be aware that tweaking it can cause clipping later. The plugin outputs actual floating point, so if your output can handle levels > 1.0 or you do extra processing reducing gain, like eq, it should be fine.

I tuned my bs2b setting to bleed a little less back. I would say that this setting feels like the room is less "live" sounding so to speak. The difference is subtle vs the one above but is definitely noticeable with hard panned material and the overall upper midrange sounds slightly less confused. So far I like the sound more than zero crossfeed for most material.

Whats funny is that with this plugin moving one bar needs a compensation with the other bar if you want to keep the hard panned image staying in the same place.

I tried headfit again and here is a setting with very defined left and right images. It removes the dead ear effect yet doesn't kill transparency nearly as much as bs2b.
