Have Isone and also use the native JRMC one, both work great. Tbh don't really like the ideal of hardware xfeeds, prefer stuff like eq and other shit done of the digital domain, they seem to mess less up to me in a sense.

My favourite of the bunch I've tried is the VRM stuff from Focusrite, but their software is tied to their hardware. It also messes with EQ to simulate the desired speakers and room acoustics.

Meier's crossfeed doesn't affect the FR significantly as far as I can tell. BS2B (foobar plugin) has an emulated meier crossfeed, best I've tried so far in that it has the least negative effects, it's mostly noticeable with hard panned L/R instruments and helps alot reducing fatigue on some recordings.

With:

Without:

It's some ~2db lower after the midbass but it doesn't change the overall shape of it or create any peaks.

Compare to Isone's default using the same song:

You will inevitably loose some resolution with either since the drivers have to work alot harder with info from both channels.

Like I said try the Isone subtle setting and the headfit crossfeed plugin. BS2B is too dark and although good for 2 minues worth of listening, it becomes too veiled for the long term unless your cans just happen to match with their FR anomalies

I'm using the trial of jriver. So far I felt I hear "different' SQ compared to F2k. I think the program has lots of features to play with. Currently just enabling the crossfeed "standard (with spatialization)". I don't understand why it puts 64 bits for internal playback.

i use Isone i think it's called or something in FL Studio 10 sometimes is the only crossfeed i ever play with but only with some unbalanced dynamic headphones only. some of my headphones and especially for stax it sounds very unnatural. i think cause the power amps i use already have good stereo separation already so i barely use it. i think you can use the Isone plugin with Foobar too. not sure.

isone is a vst plugin that you can use with any program that can do vst. Try the subtle preset. It is a pretty decent crossfeed setting IMO

For those that like to build a simple passive one I wrote a small article on a simple circuit.

Probably not as good as some of the better SW crossfeeds though as you can't really adjust it much.
