Welcome, Jeremy!

Jeremy is cool guys.

He's newer to this "hobby". He's got a home studio gear with guitars. Since he builds these crazy PCs with SLI vid cards, etc., I think we can corrupt him into future "investments" in audio which will of course slowly downward-average-to-zero.

It's such a natural stepping stone. Pulling an old fridge from the dumpster of your apartment complex to use the compressor for an absurd water chiller solution is a good gateway into obsessing over some random set of tubes.

Hell, I haven't seriously played a PC game in four years and I'm contemplating a second 780ti for my system.

Maybe  p;)
;)

zerodeefex: Go for it. Steam winter sales start in a few weeks--I was in your shoes a few years ago, and the combination of new PC + years of gaming abstinence + crazy sales resulted in an explosion of my gaming library.

Well, I just saw you have the same username (TheGame) on HF, and I was talking to a Jeremy with a different username...Just a coincidence, then, I assume!

Hi.

I've been a music nut since I was very young.  In high school, I was one of a small group who used to hang out in the Music Room.  We used to try all the instruments, so as a result, I can play any instrument - poorly.  8)

Around then, I was introduced by a close friend to the idea of listening to the sound of audio equipment, so I have been doing that a long time.

But I have gone back and forth between having nice sounding setups and just having cheap crap, and enjoyed music either way.  A few years ago, I moved from a very rural area where I could use speakers any time I wanted, to a more densely populated area (but with better weather), and so I started to get interested in headphones again.

I've participated enough in HF to get frustrated with the vast number of people who "read between the lines" of what I am saying - even though I NEVER talk that way - I don't imply anything, I am not that good of a writer.

If I say "I want a glass of water", I am not blaming someone for making the air dry and I am not implying that I am disappointed for not having a different beverage, I just want a glass of water.

It's a waste of time to spend it on saying things like "no I am not blaming anyone, you are just assuming that", so I am pretty much done with HF.

Okay, rant over.

Need some acronym help

HF = ??

A reference to some discussion forum... but I don't think Middle Aged Shred...

MOTD = ??

A reference to I think a product (as opposed to in the UK, where it is "Match of the Day" on BBC TV)....

Thanks !
