Welcome PhoenixClaw!

Are you related to the guy in the chair?

Unfortunately, no as my handle was from an inside joke with some friends that dates waaaay back to primary school :D

I did love watching that show as a child (probably helped me become a "techie" of sorts). And the cracked article showing the case for Dr. Claw as the real Inspector Gadget was hilarious

I posted here a while ago but I've never really introduced myself. Hi! I'm Ishcabible. That's basically the most interesting thing I have to say about myself. Well, I do write for Headfonics.com under the name Kyle, (I'm rather depressed Dalethorn has been writing reviews for the site) but that's not very noteworthy because it's honestly turning into a worse version of Headfonia as of late. Other than that, I'm still trying to understand the technical side of all this, which is why I've been lurking here more than HF.

My biggest audio-related regret is buying a DT48 (I'll be sending that over to RexAEterna soon). I bought it because of KBI's suggestion, but the only thing I can even listen to with them is mono stuff. Maybe he'll buy it off me.

Hi everyone,

I just got done reading the articles in the soapbox, as well as the stickies at the top of the headphone measurement forum.  It was time well spent.  Found myself rather amused at Stereophile's fantastic definition of "upper mids".  I also found the resources in the Education In Audio article fairly helpful.

I'm warrenpchi over at Head-Fi, but everyone just calls me Warren.  I've been to a couple of meets in the California area (including H3 last summer, and the latest Changfest in SF a few weeks back).  Always a good time.  Over the past year or so, I've become thoroughly obsessed with this hobby of ours, and I can't imagine that coming to a stop anytime soon.

As for the future, I've been finding myself leaning towards IEMs.  Armed with some excellent suggestions from MuppetFace, I think I'll be on that track for quite some time.

For now, I'll probably just be lurking and learning for a while, so I'm not sure I'll be posting much unless I have something meaningful to contribute.  Still, it's good to see a few familiar names in here.

Hi everyone,

I'm hiyu64.  Sorry for the late introduction, I've never been good at introductions.  I've been lurking head-fi for a while, and I discovered this secret hideout somewhere along the way.  I really like the work done here to bridge objectivism and subjectivism in regards to headphones.

I've read the various stickies around the sub-forums, and I am still learning.  I haven't really jumped into audiophile territory until recently, so I'll probably have a lot of misconceptions, understanding, etc.  Feel free to call me out if you don't agree with anything I say.  It'll only help me learn faster.

Cheers.

P.S. still chugging along on that 40+ page pirate paper.

Hi,

I don't think I ever introduced myself, even though I'v been registered to this forum for a very long time. Ever since Purrin was so kind to invite me! Head-fi is a great place, in creating awareness of this great hobby, but you do notice you can't agree with everybody's opinion. I tried some headphones and gear that were recommended to me, which cost alot of money, and found myself disappointed over and over again. When I saw some measurements by Purrin, I was really interested in them, a more technical and objective approach to the overload of equipment we see nowadays.

I live in the Netherlands, and work in aviation. I play piano and guitar. I play classical piano, and loved it, until I had to practice for over 6hours a day to keep up, and kinda lost the fun. Now I just play classical piano for my own enjoyment. I play electric guitar in a blues/rock band, which I very much enjoy. I listen to all kinds of music, but I absolutely adore classical music, and you'l be hard pressed to find a bigger fan of Beethoven.

My current goal is to aquire everything from the pirate bootylist <1100e  :wheel:

Kind regards,

Victor  :)p7

I'm more of a wine person nowadays. A fresh beer is always tempting though.
