Hi Everyone! :),

I found out about this place through IF and have been having great fun reading through the forums most of the day (am ill in bed atm *sniff*). I really like this site, the tests and the manifesto was a great read! (thanks purrin!).

I have written a couple reviews on headphones for my blog (http://noblehifi.blogspot.co.uk/). I would love to incorporate some of the information gathered on here in future reviews (would that be ok?). I really wish I'd known about this place when when I wrote my AKG K550 review, I really did not like those headphones! Reading the results of the tests on here almost made me cry (with happiness), I felt like I was the only one that didn't like it before now.

Keep up the good work people!

hey there. been in the hobby for a pretty long time now I'd say, but haven't really been happy with any setup I've owned... though I suppose everyone always wants upgrades in this hobby. p;)
I'm Swedish but got exported to Canada for some strange reasons.
anyhow, I ended up here due to me looking for measurements for some headphones that I don't even remember which ones that was, and that due to being on the hunt for some closed headphones that don't have leather/pleather pads as I can't stand using that for longer listening sessions.
I tend to like bass tame headphones to neutral ones, with midrange to upper midrange emphasis I think.
and I've pretty much come to the conclusion that this doesn't exist!
please prove me wrong as I'm getting desperate. tried a lot of phones but none sound right to me so far.
so much easier with open back headphones.  :)p14

anyhow, I'll be hanging around here for when I've got a place to have open headphones and a bit better budget.

currently only have audio technica ATH-CK100, would love to see measurements of these - I don't even know what sounds good anymore!
also building an M^3 with Sigma11, pairing with an ODAC.
and looking for a semi-portable DAC/amp combo to use with an iPad and laptop, was hoping the Leckerton UHA-6s mkII with Camera Connection Kit adapter would work but I haven't been able to find any information for that.

previously owned pretty much all the newer sennheiser HD5/6-series, AKG K601/K701, hifiman he-4, denon d5000, audio technica ath-esw9/esw10jpn, lots of IEMs... more headphones... too many to remember. just to give a frame of reference or something.
heard a lot more than I've owned though, so there is a bit more to compare to.

a bit strange introduction, not sure what to write. 5AM and pretty tired and stuff.
but the above is pretty much what lead me to this place. I tend to find that measurements do translate to what I have heard in the past, this site seems cool.

so... Hi!

I heard the AT ATH A2000X the other day and they were close to what you are saying. However they weren't bass light... they were bass nonexistent, but i think that was to do with the fact i couldn't get that stupid head band to keep the earpads in a place that provided a good seal, but i have a weird head :P if you can try them or the ath a1000 they may suit you a little. Not sure how they measure, but i liked the mids and treble.

Ohoy guys!

New member here, all the way from Sweden. I got into this hobby properly after reading about the O2. I now have two O2's and the ODAC. Knowing that I paid just over 100€ for something that awesome made me seriously question a lot of the gear out there. Also, seeing the O2's puny 10€ AC adapter sitting in the same outlet as a crazy expensive power cord (hooked up to the bluray player) made me seriously rethink hifi "upgrades". If it's built right from the beginning, it's already good.

My headphones are a pair of Denon AH-D5000 (2011 model). I'm looking to get some open-back phones too, for fun.

I work as a software engineer, so if I can bring something to the table here, it would be an engineering view on computers on hifi.

Cheers
/Adam

Just purchased a SR-202 & SRM-1 MK2 PRO.

http://www.headfonia.com/stax-sr-202-welcome-to-electrostatics/

this guys rig.

I really liked my 2050 system (202 and 252) quite a bit but thought the amp lacked juice. I hear no such brightness that is often associated with the 404 model cans so now I am really very curious as to how those 202s would sound out of a nice stax amp. I think I want to get one again  :-DD
