I'm here because: (a) I saw this site mentioned by Tyll on Inner Fidelity, and (b) Purrin has always had some of the best and most reasonable posts on head-fi, and (c) head-case is too obnoxious for my taste (though the guys are nice when you meet them in person at meets).  I don't understand much of the technical stuff, but I like reading it anyway.

In other words, my thought patterns are influenced by many perspectives and by many disciplines, so it is a miracle that I actually sound like one person when writing down my thoughts.  As an example, recently I wrote a paper for a feminist theory class using sources from feminist theorists, end-of-year SEC filings, a couple of opamp spec sheets, and a disassembled Apogee Duet 2.  And people wonder why I am not like everyone else.

This needs to see the light of day...

Well, greetings ladies, gentlemen and parrots! To introduce myself, here's a short version of my story: I started in Hifi as a 16 year old, by buying a pair of Denon D2000's and a set of Cerwin Vega's top model speakers (what a start eh?). But I smelled blood, and went for the kill - but this is on seaserpent not easily swayed.
Since then, over the past 3 years I've heard just about every reputable headphone out there, and found my match in the HD800, and the earthquake inducing speakers have been switched for some JBL 10k's.
I love letting people who swear to Beats and their like, experience true Hifi for the sake of letting them know what they're missing, and make an informed decision.

My general preference in audio gear is maximum detail, neutrality and a big soundstage - though as a 19 year old the depth of my treasure chest is easily reached. But I do think I spend the bootey wisely!  ahoy

Hey, fellow pirates. I have been around on and off in Head-fi, and am mostly sick of the lack of substance that I find there. I love being able to look at measurements for my headphones to help me interpret what I hear and potential problems. At this point in my headphone quest, I just want to own one solid dynamic, ortho, and electrostatic so I can call it quits (for a while hopefully). My cannons are locked on to a certain 'stat now  :)p1. Let's see how long I can last :P.

I look forward to starting off new and perhaps contributing to some discussions when I'm not too busy lurking.

Personally, I preferred the synergy of the LL with the SR-009. The BHSE is better with the SR-007 however.

For an ortho, check out LFF's Paradox. It's ballin'.

Dynamics... personally, I'd take an HD800 or HP1000 + something from Eddie Current. The HD600 is a more cost effective choice and really nice too. Just skip the HD700.

I mostly talk about music there. Weird.

Hehe, I actually owned the HD650 for a while and loved it. However, I sold it in order to get a Mad Dog T50RP. I just needed something a little more neutral for my classical music. The electrostat I'm looking at is an original SR-Lambda that I hope will completely satisfy my classical listening.
