It does a great deal more than being told that we should "move on."

Anyway, the work thing, bad managers and psychopathic CEOs and all, is really rather moving away from the original topic of critical thinking and research. Except that, faced with a bit more of those things, the bullshitters would get away with less.

Yes I agree we have covered a lot of ground.
In summary. Yes. I think young people for the most part do appreciate C and A  thinking and research. Just like everyone else though it has to be something that interests them to be motivated to do it. And it helps if the bullshitters don't micromanage the effort.
