Schiit Stories Update related to Yggy: http://www.head-fi.org/t/701900/schiit-happened-the-story-of-the-worlds-most-improbable-start-up/3045#post_10944447

The money quote for those that don't click through: "If you are at RMAF, you will be able to hear a very-near-production Yggy in its full chassis, with full feature sets intact. Other than a few PCB changes and some firmware tweaks, what you hear is what we’ll shortly be shipping."

Tube Rag? I say too many good new tube amps and too few good new tubes. Therein lies the problem. Until that one gets resolved, buying a tube amp will continue to be like signing up for a crack addiction, making the suckers in the middle rich, and still settling for the so-so stuff cut with baby powder.

I have been there with the Earmax Pro. I actually had some great tubes but broke a key 1965 Zaeux (Philips) E188CC thereby ruining the pair, and everything I bought to replace them were mere shadows. That quality of tube is now 2 to 4 times the 2008 price. I am not going there again. Hence the pursuit of great solid state.

Production units haven't shipped yet, but I will hear yggy and Rag in an hour or so. It's my first stop at RMAF.

Listen to it off his vinyl rig if it's there.  Otherwise you will just be hearing the craptastic Macbook digititus.  Though I assume it will be paired with the Yggy so comments would be welcome.

Just got back from RMAF. I was there at opening, and I think I was #3 to get a turn at Rag/Yaggy. After 2/3 sittings over ~4hrs, the biggest impression was just how realistic the attack, decay & ambiance cues were. More thoughts to follow...

Not the slightest hint of it. Dynamic, detailed... Rag + Yaggy will be the final stop for some.
