Ha. I work and I post. They aren't mutually exclusive.

With respect to birthdays, I suspect there are some Amazon Local deals on clowns and such.

You guys could obviously learn a thing or two from Mytek on how to design a DAC properly and deliver it on time.

Manhattan DSD256 bitches, this how we do.

I've been making fun of Kickstarter/Indiegogo campaigns a bit, yes. Perhaps not the most tactful thing to do.

But we're not Burger King.

This is not a garage sale.

This isn't "have it your way," or "let's make a deal."

If you aren't completely, totally sold by the price/performance ratio of our products, that's absolutely cool. There's a lot of other good stuff out there.

Not a fan of Kickstarter or Indiegogo, especially for audio and most tech. Attracts people who can't (or won't) stand behind their own products, and thus aren't willing to use their own money or find their own funding. No sense of urgency when you're using other people's money and encourages a complacency that is not good for innovation.

You left out "and gets them addicted to money up front, so the campaigns are endless...endless...endless...and added to/pimped/rejiggered when the money doesn't come in as anticipated..."

But seriously, this is no different than going to the bank and getting receivables financing terms (and taking the bank on as a de facto controlling-interest partner in your business.) Well, except there are no receivables...

Okay, I'll stop now.

Seriously. No business model is inherently "bad," as long as the customer doesn't get screwed in the end. We're just dinosauric old-fashioned cane-rattling "get off my lawn" kinda guys who are totally okay with going bust if our guesses of what you want are incongruent with reality, in preference to accommodating every specific request for niche functionality (and the accompanying SKU/service/support insanity) in order to please a crowd.

Does this mean we won't get to purchase a $1000 USB cable at a *STEEP* discount if we agree to buy the Yggy? Damn, that's a deal-breaker if I ever heard one.

No names; but the constant morphing of a product's fundamental description gives me the impressions of:
- Lack of vision or focus.
- Trying to please everybody (has never worked in human history).
- Too many cooks in the kitchen.

I guess I'm more in the camp of "put your heart into something and then we'll decide if we like it."  What's going on with some of theses crowd-funded campaigns reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where he tries to get that carpenter to build those kitchen cabinets for him.

(There... another useless post.  Are we catching up?)

It was always a DAP. It was never a hard drive/DAC/amp. We've always been at war with Eurasia.
