There have been instances where I've felt unfounded insults have been slung towards you by others and, as you say, that's not cool either. Kudos to you for taking things in stride though."Banning" political discussion might work. It's likely to creep in anyway. The important responsibility lies on all of us on a personal level. So long as we all maintain a certain level of detachment and respect for each other and the issues at hand, we're golden.
I'd appreciate your feedback either way, especially from those who regularly comment on politics (Anax, Austin, burns, Dave, DF, kap, Kunlun, Marv, OJ, tode et al.). What do you think?

One thing we certainly shouldn't tolerate on the new forum is homophobia. If a gay member of the forum decides to get married and makes a public announcement about it, please don't use that as an excuse to grumble.
