Very interesting stuff, much appreciated to all involved. I don't mind a few filter choices, but including that many (and especially ones that sound obviously inferior) seems more like trying to tick as many feature boxes as possible rather than getting the best sound out of your product.

Does the Invicta use op-amps or a discrete design for the analog outs?

How do you drive it balanced from an Invicta?  You want me to run alligator clips and wires between the line out and my headphone jack in some hope it will beat my Super7?  I would consider any product setup like that a  poo product.

Not hoping for anything special(let alone beat the Super7) but pretty curious on whether it actually works out properly(or well)  :)p8

That being said, I was expecting more of a device coming out of the designers of the 9018. If LFF likes his tricked out Buffalo 3 so much, this is actually showing that the diy community has even the designers beat in their home ground.

Or that they compromised to cram all of that utility into a tiny box. Still the $4k price tag is inexcusable if the DAC only performance is only at that level.

No worries, I honestly didn't think about the possibility.  The manual gave me a hard time since it was written in Canadian with blinding fonts.

You guys are absolutely killing me. I went from aspiring the Eximus DP1 to the Invicta, and now to the PWD Mk2. The form factor may be an issue though unless I can put it under my 27" iMac.

^I have the Balancing Act Power Suppy and Amp stacked on top of the PWD...no hum and seems okay.  An iMac might put the screen a bit high though.
