Black Mesa Source is finally out.

For those of you who liked Half Life, the community remake of Half Life is out, after a grueling 8-year development.

In keeping with this forum's topic, I must say that the soundstaging is some of the best I've ever heard.  Not often do I hear a noise in a game and instinctively turn around to look for it!  :)p13

HL1 was a lot of my childhood and BMS didn't ruin it at all.  It's a masterpiece--especially on the Headphones setting.

I was just thinking to myself I should replay Half-Life after going on a Wolf 3D / Doom / Quake / Duke 3D nostalgia trip recently. Maybe I'll try this out sometime.

They have a holophonic air ambiance loop for every size of room and play the one corresponding closest to the size of the room you're in.  That's hi-fi dedication right there  :)p2

How do I download this?  Provided that I have Steam but no games on it. :P

And I used to play HL Death Match, one of the FPS that I could play without getting motion sickness. :P

PS I hate the crossbow!

It requires no purchases.  Simply download "Source SDK Base 2007," run it once, and close it.
Then download the files and run the EXE.  Then restart steam, and you're good to go.
