Let me know if/when you want to measure my Mayflower ODAC rev B/O2.

We could swap and compare measurements.

I only have Anax's JDSLabs ODAC Rev B and my Massdrop O2 will probably won't be here till mid Sept.

I've read and worked a bit more with the 2i2 and I'm more convinced it will not be up to snuff to measure these devices unbalanced. I would have to come up with a way to seamlessly couple the unbalanced outputs of the O2 and ODAC to the balanced inputs of the 2i2. I will post some simple THD and IMD measurements to illustrate what I mean, along the results of other folks here and there.

The 2i2 is IMO a great pro-audio balanced interface, but perhaps a bit mediocre in unbalanced mode, like most entry-level pro-audio interfaces.

Nevertheless, I will put my measurements on the ODAC later tonite.

So here are the measurements:

At 2.0 Vrms

THD 1kHz

IMD SMPTE

At 0.4 Vrms

THD 1kHz

IMD SMPTE

Do I trust these measurements and Donald Trump? No. I believe the measurements reflect more the limitations of the 2i2 when using the Line-In and unbalanced equipment that anything else. I will elaborate in the 2i2 thread (http://www.changstar.com/index.php/topic,2693.msg78445.html#msg78445).

For now I would say that I believe best results with the 2i2 and when using unbalanced connections/equipment can be achieved with around 0.3 Vrms inputs. Balanced connectivity is much better, though unfortunately (for the 2i2) most commercial equipment uses unbalanced outputs.
