ODAC Measurements

ODAC measurements into the CLIO box. Not exactly instrumentation quality, but we can get some decent measurements anyways.
Load is 64k Ohms. The scale is wrong. -3.7db is actually the -0.0db dBFS mark, so adjust by 3.7db accordingly.
  • ODAC JTest at 16bits.
  • ODAC full spectrum HD at 0db and 100Hz.
  • ODAC 2 tone (25+66Hz)
Will add more measurements.

The ODAC measurements are indeed impressive.

I guess so. They are just measurements and don't really mean that much in isolation.  :)p17  I like to have more comparative data before making any assumptions or a null hypothesis, which would be a hypothesis anyways, not truth.

ODAC 1kHz @0db, -30db, and -40db. Load is 64kOhms. 16bit output.

First Set of Plots:

On the Jitter measurements did you use -60dBFs or is it 0dBFs, but zoomed in a little? The spikes in the vicinity of 12kHz (8kHz to 14kHz) match closely with NwAvGuys (April "ODAC Released" article) around 11.025kHz (< -115 dBFs). However,  your plot goes from 1kHz to 20kHz and seems the region between 1kHz to 6kHz is the most problematic. Not sure how much that matters though.

Your Harmonic Distortion measurements seem fairly close to what he has methinks. And if I'm reading IMD from the last plot, it looks clean.

Second Set of Plots

HD bellow -90dBFS at 0dB. He claims 0.003% which I think is about -90.5dB. So far so good... I think?

Jtest is at -3db. Yes, results are good and fairly consistent with what is on his site.
