Hello guys,

Been lurking since around the time of HD700's introduction with my friend ( he stalked purrin all the way from HF to here). Finally decided to register an account to see if there are any sections that are only available to members ( and ther are!). I really respect the opinion of the members regarding gears as everyone is much more experienced than me and I look forward to read (lurk) more from  you guys :D

Bienvenido, besides lurking there is room for jokes here. We have a special section for that alone. There is more to this place than just gears...

Hi,
First of all, amazing work with this site. Love the community and the value of the information available here is absolutely terrific.
Finally decided to make an account here.
Thinking some general information about me would be necessary.
Im a 15yr (no typo, not kidding, dont judge me because of my age please) old german. This doesnt really help, obviously my experience is very limited due to age but living in germany also doesnt really seem to help - not that much of a headphone community around here, 0 meets from what Ive seen. Basically forces me to rely on other's impressions (and measurements) -> changstar  ;D
I live close to munich tho so I atleast got the munich high end once a year (which is pretty awesome imo)...
Basically got into this hobby about 1 year ago with me buying an HD 600 and a Xonar STX based on what I had read on HF.
(Actually my dad got me interested in audio stuff, I just never cared enough to spend my own money before.)
Seeing the CSD thread I found out about this site (and innerfidelity) and since then Ive basically been on here for 2+ hours daily. Sometimes as much as 8h reading a day.
Based on subjective impressions and measurements I decided I had to give the HD 800 a listen ... ended up buying one about a month after I bought the HD 600.
I think I modded them around a month later however I dont think I had the rug liner thing in there back then because I couldnt find that type of material at that time ...
Got a Vali sometime around october/november I think ... S/N is 279 so I dont think it's one of the very early ones.
And finally got a Gungnir with the v2 USB board mid april.

Welcome!

I know there are other young members here as well. We don't judge based on age...more on what you know.  ;)

Sounds like you're already building quite a good system!

Wow!  At your age I didn't know anything about high quality audio yet, I was actually getting my feet wet with building PC's around that time and the hot ticket were Cambridge Soundworks and Klipsch Promedia.  Headphones were the classic Sony street styles!  I would have laughed at the thought of having/spending the money for hd800 as well!!

Off to a nice start I must say.  Wonder how my kid's going to end up ><
