MOTD = Message Of The Day (at least that is what it used to mean back in the old IRC days)

HF = Mildly Amused Smirk or could mean Media Application Server or Measurement Analysis Software I guess it depends on how the context is used.

Maybe this guide could further differentiate itself from the HF one by covering tubes as well?

I posted this over at HF; my attempt to calm the tube noobs.

And, okay, I found MOTD it is on the home page <slaps side of his head>

I cannot say for sure what "HF" stands for, but by the way it is used in those sentences I am guessing it is an acronym for some website. I tried to do a search to figure out the answer for you but came up empty so far...sorry about that I really wanted to find the answer for you. I'm sure someone will chime in and provide the answer.

We live in an age where we have too many abbreviations and jargon. Most of the time you can only look at context and usage of words at short notice anyway.

For instance when I first heard of RMAF or Rocky Mountain Audio Fest(ival) I first thought it came from Urban Dictionary or Know Your Meme alike websites.

Hi All,

Long-time reader here who just registered. I'm mostly into home theater and review home theater gear semi-professionally, so i'm very comfortable with REW, graphs, FR plots, CSD's etc.

Head gear consists of Beyer T90's, KingRex UD384 DAC and Schiit Vali/O2 amps.

Good to be here!

Hi frends! Long time lurker, first time poster. I started out with some Westone UM1s many years go, and am now settled in with a a modded vintage R2R DAC, DIY amp and Stax with some other stuff that I keep around for fun. I'm more into the DIY stuff these days.
