Hello. I have enjoyed headphone listening since my dad passed down his $30 Audio Technicas when I was in fifth grade. I got some Jimi Hendrix and Radiohead and loved getting lost in those musical "worlds." I was very curious about how one makes something like that which led to me studying audio engineering among other things (video editing, some new media design, etc). I work in the same field now and am always trying to learn more (especially since I also teach some audio at the university).
In the last several years I got into Stereophile, then Audiostream, Inner Fidelity, head-fi, Sound and Vision, etc.
I have yet to get a real badass set of 'phones (wearing HD 280 Pros that I got for my freelance work) but currently have my eyes on the HD 600 or Alpha Dogs. I have a Light Harmonic GEEK coming my way in the new year and I'm curious about the Vali.
Like everyone else here, I am not an extremist. I find the completely subjective stuff not very useful but complete objectivism also conveniently leaves out that you can get perfect measurements and completely uninspiring sound. Subjective and objective used in harmony - now there's an informed opinion.
Let's get this party started!
