Hello, Everyone:
I recognize several names from HF. I just registered here yesterday, and am IIRC in the early part of my second year as a headfier. I find this hobby so exciting. After 30 years spending, literally, many tens of thousands of dollars chasing the dream/dragon in high-end audio, I am discovering that truly wonderful sound can be had for a fraction of the price. I hope I can avoid the $4000-5000+ pieces of equipment, which would be the same old pattern. A significant part of the draw for me is the inherent value offered by headphone listening. But then there is that sexy SR-009. What to do, what to do?    (I gather there is a nautical theme here.)

There are those here that love some of the more expensive gear, but many of us also think most of those products are overpriced and underperform.  There are still some great value propositions in headphone-dom even with the rising prices of flagships and headphone amps. 


The 009 is at almost an all time low now from Price Japan due to the falling JPY in relation to the dollar, but no pressure...

I wonder how many pirates own gear from n3rdling?

Personally speaking, I own his former K1000, 4070, and SR-Omega.
