Ask Leeperry, he's got the HP1 and modded it until his perfection level was reached. He's all ortho these days...

Ahh leepery - the only person on the planet who has managed to perfect his YH-1. But then, his pimped up T50RP was perfect as well until he got a YH-1.
There are plenty of people on the good old HF ortho thread and here on CS that I would rather turn to for advice regarding orthos.

Hello!  Some of you may know me as driver 8 on the HF forums, but I decided to go with something different here as I've been having a bit of an online identity crisis.

I've been interested in headphones for about 4 years now after hearing a friend's pair of HD650's (and buying my own soon after), but started masturbuying to counteract various anxieties about a year ago, leading to a somewhat goofy collection.  My interests and hobbies are more generically nerdy otherwise.

I might get an SR009 rig sometime within the next year or so and sell off some of that, but for the time being I'm mainly using IEMs, particularly the 334, FI-BA-SS, and ES5. I wouldn't say I have a strong preference for them over fullsized headphones (quite the opposite, actually) so much as I do more mobile listening than stationary.

Anyways, while I generally appreciate HF it's a much larger forum than I'm accustomed to and I find the degree of self-censorship expected kind of ridiculous, so I thought I'd hang out here for awhile.

Welcome ader.  Your collection looks no more goofy than many of ours!!

I don't think you should post anymore at HF, stick with the current 666 post count!  :&

Hey, good to see you. I just feel more at home here than on head-fi these days. Perhaps you'll grow to like it too.

You should post your impressions on the ECBA here when you get it! I'd seriously suggest looking into Craig's Electra too if you decide to go the SR-009 route. Otherwise, the next run for the Liquid Lightning (one of THE amps for the SR-009 IMHO...) is in April 2013.

I mostly talk about music there. Weird.

Karma points for owning Sextetts.  The best sounding worst measuring headphone ever

Thanks for for the warm welcomes!

@rhythm: Yeah, f'reals on the sextetts, especially since I got them for only $100 (I don't know if that's a good price or not, but they sound a lot better than that!).  I'll have to find my serial number later so someone can tell me which "version" they are, assuming there are variations.  They sound warmish neutral.  I'm sure there's treble roll off, but it's not enough to offend (me).

You don't tell by the serial number you tell by the kind of passive radiators it has.  If you take a good picture with light shining through the grill (in front of the driver, with the earpad off) I could tell you which version.  If you care that much...

100 isn't a great price but it's not terrible either.  I've paid more for them back when I was buying a bunch of them to find a cherry pair.  Certainly worth it if you like their sound.
