An Open Letter to Stillhart
« on: August 29, 2015, 03:16:24 PM »

So Stillhart, what's up with these potshots?

Purrin wasn't the most unbiased poster and he has a gaggle of sycophants who parrot whatever he thinks, but there was definitely some decent discussion in there if you could separate the wheat from the chaff.

If you believe Purrin (which is a big "if"), the Yggy walks all over the M7.

Only eight months ago, you were all gaga over the Hugo: "I heard the Chord Hugo this week at CES and was REALLY impressed by the sound quality." in my old DAC thread on HF (http://www.head-fi.org/t/693798/thoughts-on-a-bunch-of-dacs-and-why-delta-sigma-kinda-sucks-just-to-get-you-to-think-about-stuff/2100#post_11208719). I advised you to look elsewhere because IMO the Hugo was a poor value.

In short time, you ended up with a vintage DAC, a Theta, presumably based on my own positive experience with the Gen V. Eventually you went your own way and moved on to the AGD DAC19. As I understand it, you prefer the DAC19 over the Gumby which is cool and something I totally understand. Although I personally prefer the Yggy/Gumby, I have advised people who have asked me in PM that the AGD PCM1704 based DACs would be preferable if they wanted a more rolled, warmer, lusher, romantic sound.

Your words are very hurtful to my feelings considering that you've actually met me and some of my friends (not sycophants) in person. They are also puzzling considering that you yourself went from opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of DACs, i.e. from the Hugo to the Theta, and then on to the AGD DAC19. Maybe a tiny bit of thanks for helping to point you the right direction (R2R) instead of the passive-aggressive-kind-of-a-shitty-act?

Anyways, have fun on your megalomaniac journey. At your current rate, you'll have 10k posts on HF by the second quarter of next year, and will have obtained Messiah status with your own army of sycophants who will parrot what you have say. You'll have the respect and authority that you crave soon enough.

Thank you...  :)p4

I've had my own run in with this character at HF. He jumped all over me in a thread, without fully reading my post and who my criticism was directed at (and so did a few of his minions). He jumped to conclusions without taking the time to finish my post beginning to end.The mods deleted the conversation, so I won't bother to reference it.

True, his post count is something to behold...

Maybe, if we met in person, we would get along. But as of now I really don't see that happening.

It'll be easier since many of the Purrin "sycophants" have either left or been silent banned by HF. To become what you hate or oppose is always a fascinating development in human nature. Or maybe it was just envy.

That said, I did have a couple of IM's with Stillheart before this blew up. No problems of what was discussed then, so this came out of left field.

Geez, I'm getting into it again with him on HF  :vomit:

In a thread, a person thinks with Gumby their $300-$500 headphone collection will not show it's true potential. They plan on going to a meet and listening to headphones in the $700-$1700 range to realize Gumby's full potential.

I told them my $320 HD650's give up nothing to my  $1000 LCD2.2F's. Just that the HD650's are a little more picky in which amp powers them.

"He" joins in, going on about used headphones and MSRP's...etc., missing the point that someone doesn't have to spend a ton of money for awesome sound.

Again he jumps the gun and gets all defensive and pissy. What a piece of work this guy is turning out to be. I'm sure he still holds a grudge from last time.

Bring a Koss KSC-75. That should teach them...

JK47 At this point, it's probably better to just ignore him on head-fi so that you could save yourself some frustration and time.

Ya, you're right. He just PMed me there, asked what my problem was, and why I'm arguing with him.

I told him exactly why and to just drop it. He will now be ignored permanently.

It's obvious he needs attention any way he can get it.
