:boom: :boom: Chang = long or big in Chinese. I like  the name.
So it's the Texas of headphone forums (Big/Long Star)? That'd explain the politics ;)

Interesting.
I always thought changstar translated to: long duck dong.

"No more yanky my wanky. The Donger need food" ?

Haha wasn't there a post about how the name Changstar came about? I remember the inspiration came from motherboard manufacturers with chinese names or something like that.

yeah, there is an origin story about marv registering the domain ages ago while making fun of shitty chinese motherboards with ridiculous names: http://www.changstar.com/index.php/topic,547.0.html

it also was an actual badge on shitty brakes manufactured for department store bikes in the 80's and 90's:

I always thought of it as an actual star, "Let the Changstar guide your way!"

I also thought of it that way! Like the North Star which led the slaves to freedom. Consequently, for a long time I thought the name was Changestar (yeah, I never did my phonics homework).

I think you should re-post your opinions without the meet angle and see what happens...

Same, plus an irrate Jude. HF is an ongoing flash mob. At least that's the way I take it now, way funnier this way.

I was serious in my reply that any references to Changstar meets wasn't intentional. In the context of the DAC thread post, the intention of those photos was to show that these DAC-offs were actually being done - not imagined by cousins who possessed the gear.

Rather not waste my time with a reply. I don't quite understand what rule I violated as an MOT, other than the unwritten rule about no mention of Changstar, not even indirectly. The rules at HF are capricious, given to peoples' mood swings, so not gonna bother.

Quite frankly, I don't even know why Jude is so obsessed about what we do here (according to IP logs, he reads a lot more of the content than he should). Then again, people who are supposedly close to him have intimated to me that he has mental problems.

I remember Currawong was the one doing most, if not all of the moderation on head-fi dac section. seldom do you see Jude hanging around there.

Fictitious story: Who's the king of hill? purrin points towards the guy with the HE1000.
