Love vintage stuff....

Wish I could build some of these:

Especially that 50watt beast. IIRC, that's the amp that was used to monitor Living Stereo recordings.

Really cool!

I have a coworker that has a lot of experience in this stuff. He made a pair of 50W Class A1 vacuum tube mono-blocks 'bout 28" by 18" weighting 'bout 130 Ibs each. He has a picture of it in his cubicle and it's just a work of art. I just told him if I it would be OK with him to share and he had no problem... He told me he will try to dig the specs up and may be share it. He is NOT into it for commercial purposes though... He made that very clear... We both work in Anaheim. The amplifier goes into Class A2 mode past 50W (Class A/B behavior), but he said that he seldom gets there. The quiescent voltage I believe he said was -100V, but peak to peak it reaches 360V or so... He doesn't remember all the details and would prefer to dig though...

BTW this is an article by him:

RCA had a big manufacturing facility in Juarez, MX where I grew up. I was a repair technician in my teens there... Fond memories :)

I just picked up a Pioneer RT-707 reel-to-reel player last weekend.  Looking forward to cleaning it up and playing around with it.

I've picked up a couple of old classical Living Stereo tapes off The Bay, and some blank tape to mess around with recording.

also looking forward to updates as well. reel to reel tapes are close to impossible to get a hold of in good working condition. i would get one myself but i have too much junk already here piling up. still need to get rid some of my extra receivers and amps piling up, but haven't yet cause i have very bad habit of procrastinating all the time.

Reel to reel has that special sound many people love but can be a PITA to use. Here is a pic of the model I have:
