I think we should start a petition here for Senn to bring back a 'stat.
I should make a dedicated website for it.

They were working on something special right before the HD800 was released.  Not sure what or if they still are.  But I got the feeling it was something big...

RD: Ya they were Anax modded.  The Anax mods help with the brightness but still aren't enough to overcome those issues IMO.  The mod seems to decrease brightness but makes the imaging a little fuzzier.  I've mentioned this before, but higher output Z amps seem to help the HD800 sound more normal but they still always sound a bit off to me.  I dunno.

The mods for me are sort of damned if you do and damned if you don't. I wish there were an easy mod to just kill the 6kHz peak/ringing on the HD800. In any case, I've been gradually moving toward my modded HP1000s and will probably dump the HD800 since I now finally have a high plankton reference system (T2/007) which is more or less neutral.

Anybody interested in my thrashed HD800s?

Silver sharpie fixes the chips btw.  They have an oil based version too.

Pro/HE90?  ;)

Ahh that reminds me I met up with Young from Bahston last weekend to pick up the KGSS. He liked the Orpheus, but found them too bright after a while. We might do SR-Omega vs SR-009 shootout on his BHSE if he gets the 009s.

Damn that reminds me I owe him something actually.  Does he still live at the same place?  I think you'll like the 009's a lot. :)

He is definitely in the same area, can't say if it is the same apartment. But ya if I like them more than the SR-Omega I'll buy them at some point... and sell the SR-Omega. But first priority atm is paying for my ESL63 rebuild.
