Do you guys have a link to any pics of your F5x build?

What is this new pass amp you're referring to?

I agree that beveling the edges a bit like the BHSE is a nice look.  In the case design that we were playing around with last year, we did something very similar.  I was looking at digger's case too n3rdling, and I was awfully tempted.  In the end, I already have a bunch of the parts and I wanted to try making a custom case.  As sweet as KG's case is, those sinks cook and I'd like to have the amp run a bit cooler for long term reliability.  If it were me, I would either anodize or powder coat the case.  I know some of the HC guys are super minimalists, but I like my gear to have a bit more "flare" than that.   ;D

Oh what the hell, for some reason I coulda sworn the faceplate on the BHSE had about 2" cut from each side which is the look I'm referring to (not just beveled).  I know there are commerical amps that do this, I just can't remember which ones off the top of my head. It shows off the design of the heatsinks from the front.

Here is the F5X case thread I started over on DIYAudio.

The new top of the line amp from Pass Labs is the X-300.  I think its god-awful expensive but I'm sure it sounds fantastic.

We did a run of 30 cases.  The case ended up running around $550-$600 + shipping for all the panels, parts, and the conrad sinks.  So not a cheap solution, but definitely one of the nicest DIY cases you will see.  They are planning to do another run later in the year, so keep watching the F5X threads if you are interested.

In case some of you are missing out, Justin is making a round of stax jacks. Should fit very well. Better get a few!
