Yay Horio is here  :-*

2sc3675 is the truly difficult part to find now with 100% certain authenticity for a reasonable price. Which is somewhat ironic that it was the cheapest part I bought at $.50 each, now Bdent wants $7 a piece

This is the amp to have if you're going to have one. Legendary Stax design combined with better volume pot (RK27 in the original?...), running the EL34s at 20 watts, and Gilmore's completely over the top power supply...

I ended up scoring digger's T2 stuff -  was too eager to get one up :)  The casing will save me a lot of time.  Do you guys think I should pretty up the chassis with anodize/powder coat/etc?

I am definitely still interested in a GB for a custom chassis though.  I have spare boards and a ton of transistors here already.  I'll probably want to throw in the digital boards in the 2nd T2 and do some other cool things.

I think you can source almost everything from BDent these days, the prices have gone up though.  Make sure to check mouser first since they're way cheaper.  In some cases you will actually save money at bdent by ordering more, so make sure to do the calculations at the different price breaks.

Does the heatsink you found have vertical heatsinks?  They don't look as cool as the angled ones but they should help a lot with temps.

Welcome Horio :D

Yep, Seifert KL-240. 420mm x 40mm. At 80mm tall it was 18 EUR last October.

yeah i think the vertical sinks will work out really well. The die used on kg t2 is Justin's from the bh se which is fine when there are only 3 or 4 devices on the Ccs

I'm thinking of having the two ends cut on the front faceplate so that the angled heatsinks actually show from the front (ala BHSE) since it looks 10x cooler that way.

I agree that beveling the edges a bit like the BHSE is a nice look.  In the case design that we were playing around with last year, we did something very similar.  I was looking at digger's case too n3rdling, and I was awfully tempted.  In the end, I already have a bunch of the parts and I wanted to try making a custom case.  As sweet as KG's case is, those sinks cook and I'd like to have the amp run a bit cooler for long term reliability.  If it were me, I would either anodize or powder coat the case.  I know some of the HC guys are super minimalists, but I like my gear to have a bit more "flare" than that.   ;D

The case you guys did for the f5x is IMO the best looking DIY case I've seen. A similar pass-ish aesthetic would be just killer

Also love the look of Nelson's new SOTA mono blocks with semi south parts

The F5X case really turned out fantastic, and it looks even better in person (I have 2 ;D).  Something sleek and clean like the F5X front panel would look great on a T2 custom chassis.

I agree that those new top of the line Pass amps look great.  I've always been a big fan of Nelson's stuff.
