Ayre is going to be at CanJam showing their Codex desktop amp/DAC combo that will retail for about $1500.

It would be interesting to get some impressions of the Codex compared to the PonoPlayer.  How much sound signature and design do they share?  Does the Codex desktop form factor, better power supply and availability of more power improve on how the PonoPlayer sounds?

Of course it does. Physics is real. I'll be sure to ask him why the Pono isn't $1500 and why he continues to make anything other than the Pono. Actually, if the Pono sounds like a $100,000 system, he should be charging $200,000 for it since you can put it in your pocket!

Can you wear a gopro or something like that on your backpack strap (if you're carrying a backpack) when you ask him this?  It would be priceless.

Yes. Tyll IMO did a great job on that one. Ayre dude in the commentary section is all over the place though.

Pono seems like something I'll own eventually, for the right price.

Deleted my last comment at IF regarding Charles apparent view that characterization does not correlate to audio performance. It's a waste of time IMO. Can't say what he is spreading around inspires me any confidence. End of the day, his product is IMO OK. Others I'm sure will love it, but I can live with out it just fine.
