heck, there's power filters on that ebay store that also fit into the RAM, PCIe, and SATA slots... I could buy all 4 for less than a Wyrd

It is not just the prices, it is the principle. At least with Schiit, they say "you probably don't have this problem, but some people do, and if you do, this might fix it." Noise over a USB cable, especially if it is powering it too, is a conceivable issue. You don't get shot dead on Hydrogen Audio for suggesting it. I know, because I did ...and they didn't :)  :boom:

Plugging all those things into every orifice that can be found in  a PC is just silly. I know which orifice they should be stuffed up. They might even start making night&day differences to some sounds!  :gross:

That rb2013 guy... I'm not sure if I can trust what he says or not. On one hand, he has provided valuable information on the U12 and modding, as well as possibly making the MX-U8 a new fotm SPDIF converter. On the other hand... stuff like this makes him less credible.

Oh man he gives me a headache. Classic audiophool. I've wanted to start a "shit people say on head-fi" thread and he could definitely fill it up.

Ok maybe it's low hanging fruit but I cannot believe this stuff even exists:

Not only it exists but there are reviews too. But the cherry is there are also new (upgraded?!) versions released all the time.

Acoustic Revive has at least 3 of them:
RR-77
RR-777
RR-888

For what is a practically a box with 15$ components, you don't want to know what they ask for the latest thing.

Once the EarthSafe was set up, I began to shuffle through a pile of mail and reading while one of the grandkids was watching something or other on PBS. While not paying attention, I noticed (actually, I was distracted by and drawn in by) a real improvement in the stock sound (especially diction) and quality (spaciousness and frequency extension of the accompanying soundtrack). When I looked up, I found that the picture on my Samsung 46" HDTV seemed to have improved slightly as well.

EDIT: sweet lord.

EDIT: Power conditioning RAM?!  facepalm

I remember the beginnings of the Green Pen revolution. Use a green marker and draw on the edge of a CD to "keep the bits from escaping" from horizontal reflections when the red diode LASER hit the edge of a pit. Even worked with blue diode LASERs when they appeared!

Hey, it was cheap.   :)p8

My favorite - as in it did totally nothing,  Crystals in a baggy laid across some analog or digital input or output cables.  My wife had a bunch at the time for her jewelry making business so the cost was nil.

Triphazers are pretty much a spool of copper terminated in either RCA or speaker banana posts, then dipped in epoxy. All they do is add unneeded capacitance to the signal, thus skewing the tonal balance.

Enjoy the oils of snake ;)

Except temporarily degrade the crystals' energy. No one familiar with healing crystals proposed this so-called tweak.
