No way it can be real.  I first read about it somewhere here I think, someone (I forget who) said that someone at Headfi made the site to mock all the ridiculous stuff out there and what people will buy into.  What's so funny is that it does share some features with those other sites like extremely poor web layout and design.  Although the money back guarantee makes you think twice.  The angel eggs are priceless.

Although when you see Synergystic Research's site, makes you think that maybe Unreal could be real as well.

Synergystic Research... The name is enough for me, without the recent what's-actually-inside-this-thing debacle. But people still believe. There are pyrates  sharpening their sabres when they read my comments on this company. Can I say synergystic research whilst being keelhauled? Will I get long enough on the plank to explain that one should avoid companies whose name consists of a buzzword and a suggestion that they might be an academic institution?

I think MIT cables has to be up there on the list.  They purposefully named themselves as such so that they could put out product releases saying:

MIT researchers have come up groundbreaking audio technology yada yada yada. 

I think this takes the cake for shamelessness.
