Upstream synergy matters a lot. Do you get good bass response for your head size and seal with the 800 now? I worry about brightness on poorly mastered tracks with a bad seal forcing u to crank it making things even brighter.

Well they certainly aren't tight but they are fairly sturdy. The pair I have tried is old and a bit stretched out. Might see how a newer pair fits.

The concern is whether the cup seals all the around your ear, not headband stretching so much. The old one might have worn pads too.
