They certainly didn't feel that heavy to me! Very comfy and on-par with other T50RP mods with the stock enclosures in terms of weight.

The enigma web site says the slants weigh 96oz. Is that right? That is 2721g! Even the Audeze LCD-XCs weigh only 650g. 96oz is 6 lbs. Do they really weigh that much?

Hahahaha no.
They don't weight that much. That's probably the weight of the whole package including the headphones + carrying case?!?!
The headphone weight is sort of in between of MrSpeakers Alpha Dogs and LCD-XC... definitely less heavy than the LCDs (which I hated!)

Maybe that spec is missing a decimal? 9.6 oz = 272 g.

I've read conflicting reports on how much the Paradox Slants leak.  Do people here have good experience using them at highish volume in quiet places like libraries?  I will be moving to an open-plan office, and don't expect those nearby to appreciate my choice of music...  headbang

I actually think the HP50 is the best bargain in closed headphones. The 1540 is good but the NAD sound more natural and extended down low. Cleaner and just a more refined experience. I want to try justify my 1540 but with the NAD around..it's hard to pick it over them.

The T50RP mods are decent but they are to me a cheap headphone with some tweaks. They can sound amazing but IMO there's only so much you can get out of those drivers.

The TH900 was too rough with sucked back mods but great sub bass. I still prefer the HP50 overall.

The problem with them is they are so cheap for the sound you get that they trade blows with any closed back and the only changes you may get are flavour change.

It depends on the seal you want and at what volume you listen at. I have sold many Paradox and Slants to people who work in open office spaces and their co-workers have yet to complain (as far as I know!). Take my response with a grain a salt and wait for others to chime in though. :)

Offices have a MUCH higher noise floor than most libraries I've found. HVAC needs, people moving around, computers, etc.

I sit in an open office environment and use slants. No one has EVER complained. I've gotten complaints about the TH900 and open cans for sure.

Second what Ravi said. I have received complaints about the TH 900 when I owned them. None whatsoever on the Slants.

I have the Paradox Slants. If you're using the HM5 style pads, they hug the surface of the skin surrounding your ear, so sound rarely ever escapes.

Now, if you listen to deafening volumes, some of it will "might" leak through. Other than that, no complaints whatsoever. I use the Slants in my office on a day to day basis with problems.

Just make sure you mute the volume before taking them off, since they play openly when just sitting on your desk.

Thanks for sharing the experiences, this really helps!

How much amp can the Paradox Slants take advantage of?  My understanding is that they are quite efficient, so a big amp is not necessary, but I'm wondering how much power is actually helpful.  Mjolnir may be too big for the office desk and have to stay home.  Would a Leckerton have enough grunt?  Is the impedance high enough (~50ohm like T50RP presumably) to make Valhalla 2 shine?
