Focal Spirit Pros are good if you don't mind them being semi on-ear.
I agree with others, the Shure SRh1540is pretty damned good, though a bit U shaped.

So most of you guys prefer the Slants over the Enigma ? Of the two which would be the more dynamic one & better suited for EDM ?

Luis has mailed me the Slants. Hope to get it soon but given the vicarious nature of Indian customs, who knows.

I have always been curious about the Paradox and variations but have not yet been able to listen to them. I enjoy the AD quite a bit and would have no problem recommending it. At $600, I feel that it's an impressive offering. For it is a home listening can and needs a desktop amp to sound it's best.

I like the Final Audio Design (I know...) Pandora Hope. Closed and $700 when I bought them. FAD stuff is usually "funkified" in some way and the Pandora's are no exception, but overall there are not many phones under $1000 I would prefer.

As the "world's most interesting audiophile" (TM), I don't always listen with headphones, but when I do I prefer the Pandora's... Keep listening, my friend...

Arent the TR50P's open backed? Im actually looking for a pair, tried the primes so far, seems ok, but a little too expensive for my taste.

They are closed, but have semi-open slots as a vent.

For something completely different, Beyerdynamic DT 150 (as long as you don't mind how they look).

Unfortunately, I can't give a useful comparison with the HP50 because I heard them months apart, but DT 150 are currently my favorite closed cans < $300. They do have a bit of bass emphasis, but still stay surprisingly clear.

I'd recommend LFF's headphones as well. Not a fan of MrSpeakers' headphones though.

Curious what you thought of the Alpha Prime at the New York/Stamford meet this weekend.  I thought they were very good but, of course, Dan brought some very good up-gear stream with him so some of the other T50RP mods, all of which I generally liked, were at a bit of a disadvantage in terms of making any comparisons between them. Also sorry we did not get to meet; I was only there for a few hours in the morning.
