I just bought in for the 192.
Thanks LFF for the in depth review. It's nice to have a site and and community of people that take the time to do these reviews.  :)p1

Thanks, DaveBSC. What I don't understand is why people make DACs that are not class-compliant, won't work at all without drivers, and are no-go on Linux. But hey, I guess proprietary stuff is their motto, and it's a whole other thread anyway.

But it is a shame that we still have to ask, "But does it work with Linux?" and an even bigger shame that he answer is sometimes, "No."

Don't thank me, thank Will from MassDrop for letting me do an honest review.

Agree. There are a number of off the shelf boards readily available with Class 2 support, and if you want to be REALLY lazy about it, you can just use a Class 2 USB to S/Pdif board and wire the S/Pdif output straight into the digital receiver like Anedio did in the D2. Giving yourself an unnecessary support headache just seems dumb.

How does this amp compare against the HRT Music Streamer 2 or 2+?

I like the Mousai much more. Never been a huge fan of the HRT's. I prefer the ODAC to the HRT.

I joined in on the Massdrop. I'm looking into changing out my Anedio D2, which has a couple of issues that I'm starting to get annoyed with.

I wasn't aware of Massdrop. Quite interesting and you learn a new trick everyday.

About this DAC I hope you guys get a good one. Looking at the last picture, the one from the side, you can clearly see how the front plate is not even properly seated on the case... a chinese knock off of a chinese product... I think it's quite hilarious from a certain perspective. On the other hand, if it comes out great it shure should turn out to be quite the deal, assuming there's a bit of quality parts in there.

Sounds like it'd be cool to take off the top and show a picture of the insides.

I'll see about getting one added to the page.
