Magni / Modi stack, unless they are Uber, is inadequate.

Modi 1 required Wyrd to be acceptable (actually pretty darn good with Wyrd); Magni 1 I didn't care for - not good enough for me for regular use. The Uber M/M stack is fantastic though.

What's surprising is that there haven't been any updates or improvements to the Objective2 or ODAC. Oh wait, I forgot. The Objective2 was perfect and nwavguy doesn't do digital.

Yeah but those folks are talking about their endgame rigs after many years of figuring out what they want. I don't think anyone here would dismiss something like the entry-level magni/modi schiit stack as being inadequate.

haha, wasn't saying anyone dismisses inexpensive-but-good gear, just that all this talk of fancy expensive gear will make you want it. :)

Or Vali. As hans said it's more about being budget agnostic.

A decent CD-player from the black plastic crap era can still hold its own, for less than 50 Dollars/Euros...

I have still have a Philips CD751 somewhere.

Anyway, I'm smitty, I'm from NoVA, and I can never have too much gear. I listen to music for a minimum of 14 hours a day, so variety is what keeps stuff interesting.
Welcome Smitty!  ahoy

Hi, everyone. I'm interested in earphones(IEM) and measuring them.
Good to be in here!

Hey guys!  Don't really know what to say... um... um...  :vomit:

I'm basically a lurker over at head-fi since 2010 and now I'm interested in becoming a lurker here.
I started my journey with the Grado SR80i five years ago, it was hard for me to pay $99!!!! dollars for a headphone back then.  I still own that same SR80i today along with the HD800, LCD2.2, HE-560, HD650, and HD600 and there have been many more cans that have come and gone over those five years.

I had to sign up after seeing the Headamp GS-X mk2 come in third in the Top Shelf Solid State with HD800s topic.  You just never see anything bad about the GS-X mk2 (was thinking seriously about putting in an order), even the wait time is kind of like a feature or special club.  I almost want to buy one just to say I waited that long for it.  Anyway now the Ragnarok is on my radar instead after being on this forum a couple days.  Looking forward to many more great reviews/comparisons here!

Hi all. Liked the objective/subjective synthesis and banter so much I thought I'd join. This forum has a wealth of information and a no BS approach. Awesome.
