Thanks so much! It was great meeting you. BTW, for anyone curious:  this is with the felt mod, no cotton but stock grills, and stock cable. Also the production pad is orange, pre is green.

Do you think the HE-6 sounds better with the felt mod? By the way, is it Jerg's backwave felt damping or something else?

Asking about subjective impressions of sound because there seems to be a more severe dip at 2khz now compared to Marv's earlier stock measurements. Does it sound warm now?

Yup, that is Jerg's felt mod.

I'm waiting for Marv and Ultrabike to post measurements of my HE-6 with slightly different mods.

It's just Jerg's Fuzzor mod. I think it cleaned the sound up a bit made it slightly less ringy. It was a hard one for me to compare.

I'm looking forward to ohhgourami's HE-6 measurements, he feels using soft felt instead of stiff felt makes a large difference and he may very well be right. I don't think it sounds warm.

To answer your question directly, however, I did take the felt mod off once and I immediately felt it regressed but it was hard to put my finger on why. I'm hoping the soft felt version is without compromise.

Here are the before and after measurements of Ohh's HE-6 (the before is from the SD meet, and the after is from this recent LA meet). Right channel.

Going by memory I thought it sounded better this time.

I thought they sounded better at the Pirate's meet (May). They sounded bright and forward this time  :(

Plus channels were messed up  :)p8 (which could explain why the sound-stage was so forward).

BTW. i don't think these measurements are accurate / comparable to other graphs on site. Too much background noise which I think in averaging mode on ARTA maybe pushed down the treble a bit. The two here are comparable relative to each other though.
